Maple-glazed Halloumi on Tzatziki



-          ½ grated cucumber

-          4 tbsp plain yogurt

-          1 crushed garlic clove

-          2 tbsp lemon juice

-          1 tbsp olive oil

-          Salt and pepper

 

-          Rapeseed oil

-          250 g halloumi cheese

-          2 tbsp maple syrup


For the tzatziki sauce, mix the grated cucumber with 1 tsp of salt and let it drain for about 30 minutes in a sieve. Press the garlic into a bowl, add the remaining ingredients and the drained cucumber. Season with salt and pepper.


Heat a pan, add oil, and then place the halloumi slices in it. Fry for a few minutes on each side until golden brown, then drizzle with maple syrup and turn the halloumi to glaze both sides.


Spread the tzatziki sauce on plates, place the halloumi slices on top, and serve immediately. Serve with pita bread.
